The Jerusalem Film Foundation has returned from the AFM show in Los Angeles to announce that major animation groups will now be targeting Jerusalem for their production needs. The biggest name to date is Disney, who, through a Chinese animation company, will be working with one of the newest animations studios opening in December in Jerusalem.
Mr. Honig from the Foundation has also publicized that Jerusalem is offering a 35% cash rebate on all animation projects that come into the city spending US $ 1 million dollars or more. When the project and budget has been approved by the Foundation, the city will put the 35% in escrow to be paid out upon receipts at the end of production.
Mr. Honig also alluded to the fact that one of Hollywood's largest animation groups is planning to open its own studio in Jerusalem in the not too distant future.
